Planning to study, work, or migrate abroad in 2026? The IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is one of the world’s most trusted English language tests. It measures your skills in Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking, and is accepted by over 11,000 universities, employers, and organizations worldwide.

In countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and more, IELTS is conducted through both IDP and British Council authorized test centers.

No matter where you take the test, your certificate (Test Report Form, TRF) is the same. It doesn’t show whether you booked via IDP or British Council.

IELTS Exam Dates & Calendar (2026)

IELTS is held throughout the year:

Computer-delivered IELTS

Almost daily in major cities

Paper-based IELTS

Set dates, usually 3–4 times per month.
To book your slot, select your country on the official IELTS website, pick your test city, format (computer/paper), and view live availability.
Book your exam 3–4 months before university application deadlines so you have time for results and, if needed, a retake.

Test Centers (Global)

IELTS has a wide network of authorized centers worldwide.
